Three men on a ramble

In this loose sequel to the now legendary novel Three Men in a Boat (To Say Nothing of the Dog), the three English gentlemen, Jerome, Harris, and George, return to embark on a new expedition, this time to the continent. Although they are a little older, and two of them are even married, they still long for some adventure. They therefore set off on a bicycle tour of Europe, and on their wanderings they even visit Prague and Karlovy Vary. In this book, however, the author, with his typical irony and exaggeration, pokes fun primarily at the inhabitants of Germany and their customs. The clever, dry English humour does not disappoint the reader in this sequel either, as its author hits upon those aspects of human nature that remain the same even after more than a hundred years.
