Time of the Witches 5: Blackbird Barrel

The long-awaited new novel in the popular All Souls series. We once again meet Diana Bishop and Matthew Clairmont, a witch and a vampire who fought for their forbidden relationship against tradition and many other obstacles. Now they lead a happy married life, devoting themselves to science and raising their gifted twins, and Diana has hardly used magic for years. But then ravens fly into New Haven, and everything changes in an instant. To protect her children, Diana must acquaint herself with the past and present of a part of her family she never knew existed, and venture into unknown lands and deep within herself to uncover the true depth of her magical abilities. But will it be enough? Will Diana succeed in securing a happy childhood for Pip and Rebecca? Will she protect her loved ones from the long arm of the Congregation and from the intrigues of old and new enemies? And what will the newly forged relationships with relatives whose lineage stretches back to the time of the Salem witch trials bring? And above all, can Matthew come to terms with the kind of witch Diana is becoming, and will their love withstand this test too?
