The Yale Dot 3-Pack uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to provide a way to communicate between a smartphone, the Yale Home app and a compatible Yale smart lock. Simply tap your smartphone on the Yale Dot to change the status (lock/unlock) of the smart lock. The reader is paired with a compatible Yale Smart lock and this pairing is managed through the lock settings menu in the Yale Home app. You can pair up to 5 Yale Dot devices to one lock. Once paired, Yale Dot works for all users who have access to that lock. Access rights are managed through the guest list. Once registered, Yale Dot devices will appear in a list within your ecosystem, with each Dot device listed with the specific name you assigned to it.
