The Zyxel NWA90BE is a dual-band access point designed for small offices, home offices, and environments that require a high density of connections. This WiFi 7 access point operates on the 802.11be standard, delivering a combined transfer speed of 501Mbps and more. To fully utilise its performance, it includes a 2.5GbE LAN port, which eliminates bottlenecks in the network infrastructure. At the core of the device is a quad-core Qualcomm processor that efficiently handles data streams. Flexible network management is provided by the Nebula cloud platform, which centralises the configuration, monitoring, and optimisation of the wireless connection. The device also supports Smart Mesh MLO technology for fast and stable wireless linking of multiple units.

This WiFi 7 access point operates on the 802.11be standard while maintaining full backward compatibility with older standards like 802.11ax (WiFi 6), 802.11ac (WiFi 5), and 802.11g. To efficiently serve multiple clients simultaneously, it implements MU-MIMO technology in a 2×2:2SS configuration for both frequency bands. This means the device communicates with two clients at the same time via two spatial streams, which reduces latency and improves overall network throughput.

Mesh technology and management for the Zyxel NWA90BE access point
The device integrates Smart Mesh MLO (Multi-Link Operation) technology, which creates a dynamic wireless link between multiple units and eliminates the need for laying Ethernet cables. For a seamless transition of connected clients between individual access points within the mesh network, it uses the 802.11r/k/v fast roaming standards. These protocols actively manage the handover of a client to a stronger signal, maintaining a stable connection when moving within the covered area. Configuration and management, whether in standalone mode or via the Nebula cloud platform, is handled through a web interface or mobile app.
Enterprise-level security
The Zyxel NWA90BE integrates a suite of security features to protect the corporate network. The Captive Portal function manages guest access by redirecting users to a login page.

- For connecting to the backbone network, the access point is equipped with a single 2.5GbE LAN port
- This speed is crucial for eliminating the bottleneck between the wireless and wired parts of the network and for fully utilising the data throughput of the WiFi 7 standard
- The first option is to power the device via the network cable using Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology with 802.3at (PoE+) and 802.3bt (PoE++) standards
- The second option is to use the included DC +12V/1.5A power adapter
