The Acer S1287n projector allows you to project in environments with ambient light. Its light output supports a readable image without needing to completely darken the room. Thanks to its short-throw ratio of 0.61, it projects a large image from a short distance. This XGA device, with a native resolution of 1024×768 pixels and a 4:3 aspect ratio, is ideal for presenting data and spreadsheets. The 20000:1 contrast ratio brings out fine details in both dark and light parts of the image. The brightness in standard mode is 4000 ANSI lumens, which drops to 3200 ANSI lumens in the power-saving ECO mode. The projected image size ranges from 32" (81.3cm) up to 300" (762cm). It also includes one integrated 16W speaker. LumiSense, colourBoost 3D, and colourSafe II technologies optimise the image reproduction. The device supports 3D content via the DLP 3D Ready and HDMI 3D Ready standards, including a 144Hz 24p 3D mode.

Lamp life and running costs
Light is generated by a 240W OSRAM E30.1 lamp. Its lifespan in standard operating mode is 5000 hours. Power consumption is directly related to the selected brightness mode. At standard performance, the power consumption is 285W, dropping to 210W in the power-saving ECO mode. In Standby mode, consumption is 0.5W.
Short throw and installation options
The projector uses Short Throw optics with a projection ratio of 0.61. From one metre, it creates an 87" screen size image. The optical zoom is fixed (1×), so the image size is adjusted by changing the projector's distance from the projection surface. Manual 4-corner correction within a ±15° range is available for adjusting image geometry. The device supports front, rear, front ceiling, and rear ceiling projection modes and allows for ceiling mounting.
Connectivity options
An extensive set of ports is available for connecting video and audio sources. It includes two HDMI 1.4b inputs with HDCP 1.4 content protection support and a VGA output (D-Sub). The professional HDBaseT (RJ45) interface serves for long-distance signal transmission. A USB Type-A port with a 5V/1A output is used to power external devices. Audio connectivity is provided by a 3.5mm audio input, a 3.5mm audio output, and an S/PDIF digital interface. For device management and control, the projector includes an RS232 port and a LAN Control (RJ45) interface.

Native resolution vs. maximum resolution
