APC Easy UPS SMV 1500VA

APC Easy UPS SMV 1500VA
The APC Easy UPS SMV 1500VA uninterruptible power supply provides reliable power protection for workstations, servers, and other sensitive electronics. As a line-interactive UPS with a capacity of 1500VA, or 1050W, it delivers a pure sine wave output, which is essential for devices with active PFC power supplies. At half load, it powers connected devices for 11.8 minutes, and at full load, for 3.3 minutes. This UPS for PCs and small business deployments integrates AVR functionality, where automatic voltage regulation stabilises fluctuations in the mains supply without needing to switch to battery power. This saves battery capacity for complete power outages and extends its lifespan.
Key features of the APC Easy UPS SMV 1500VA uninterruptible power supply
- Line-interactive topology with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR)
- Provides a pure sine wave output for sensitive electronic devices
- High operating efficiency reduces running costs and heat generation
- USB and RS-232 communication interfaces for easy management
- Included software enables management and safe shutdown of connected devices
- Compact, space-saving tower design
- Protects connected devices against power surges
Performance and power stability
This APC UPS uses line-interactive topology with an Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) function. This feature corrects both undervoltage and overvoltage without using the battery. The apparent power is 1500VA and the real power is 1050W. High efficiency reduces running costs and heat generation, reaching 98.2% at full load and 96.9% at half load. At half load, the backup time extends to 11.8 minutes, while at full load it is 3.3 minutes.
Battery and protection
Inside the unit is a maintenance-free sealed lead-acid battery with a total voltage of 24V. It takes approximately 4 hours to fully recharge, restoring its full capacity for the next outage. The integrated electronics actively prevent deep discharge, which could permanently damage the battery. In addition to battery backup, it protects connected electronics from power surges with an absorption capacity of 190J. This power protection is active on all output sockets.
Management and communication interface
Connection to a computer or server is handled via standard USB and RS-232 communication ports. These ports are used for monitoring the UPS status and for configuration. The supplied software lets you monitor the power and battery status directly from your operating system. In the event of a prolonged power outage, the software performs an automatic safe shutdown of the computer, preventing file system damage and the loss of unsaved work. A standard IEC C14 input is used to connect to the mains. To power your appliances, you can use the six IEC C13 output sockets, all of which are surge-protected and battery-powered.
