Deviation Exercises - Book Five - Balancing on a Weak Laundry Line

Jiřina is spending more money than Jakub can earn. He decides to leave his job in the model workshop but stays with the same company as a freelance fitter. What he doesn't know yet is that a fitter is basically a land-based sailor, with a fleeting romance at every stop. However, things start to spiral out of his control. What's more, his mother-in-law takes a fancy to him, as she receives no understanding from her husband, a despot and a tyrant. During one argument, things turn physical. The mother-in-law takes advantage of her husband being drunk and the fact that Jakub and Jiřina are visiting, sensing potential allies in them. She strikes her husband so hard that he is left lying motionless on the floor. The three of them, thinking he is dead, try to hide him. To ensure no one snitches, the mother-in-law decides that Jakub must sleep with her, so that “everyone has something on everyone else, something they could go to prison for”. But from this incident, more problems arise for Jakub.
