Easy UPS BV 800VA (IEC)

Easy UPS BV 800VA (IEC)
The APC Easy UPS BV 800VA backup power supply operates on the standby topology principle with a total power output of 800VA, or 450W. The integrated Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) actively stabilises fluctuations in the mains electricity without switching to battery power, which extends the battery's lifespan and increases the reliability of the protection. At half load (225W), this backup power supply for PCs and other electronics provides power for 15 minutes, while at full load (450W), it provides a backup for 2.5 minutes. The compact design allows for flexible installation on the floor or a wall, making it easy to place in an office or home. The backup power supply protects all connected devices against surges and voltage spikes, ensuring their safe operation.
Key features of the APC Easy UPS BV 800VA (IEC)
- Uses line-interactive topology with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR)
- All output sockets are backed up and surge-protected
- Contains a replaceable lead-acid battery with deep discharge protection
- Offers a compact design with wall-mounting capability
- High operating efficiency reduces energy consumption
- Includes integrated surge protection for connected devices
Performance and automatic regulation
This standby topology backup power supply uses Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct both undervoltage and overvoltage to a safe level. The real power output is 450W and the apparent power is 800VA. Its high operating efficiency, which is 97.0% at full load and 94.5% at half load, reduces energy loss and waste heat generation. The AVR feature stabilises the input voltage without using the battery, saving its capacity for a complete power outage.
Battery and comprehensive protection
The unit contains a 12V, 7.0Ah lead-acid battery that is easy for the user to replace. Its expected lifespan is between 3 to 5 years, and it takes 8 hours to fully charge. The battery circuit is complemented by protection against complete deep discharge and overload. Surge protection with an absorption capacity of 156J protects connected electronics from damage caused by voltage spikes or nearby lightning strikes. An IEC C14 input connector is used to connect to the mains. For output, there are six IEC C13 sockets for powering computers, monitors and other peripherals. A major advantage is that all outputs are battery-backed and surge-protected.
Operating conditions and management
The power supply can operate in an environment with temperatures from 0 to 40°C. The unit's noise level is 40dBA, which is equivalent to a quiet office environment. This backup power supply does not have a USB communication port and the manufacturer does not provide management software. Its configuration and operation do not require any advanced setup; just plug it in. The status LEDs on the front panel clearly indicate the current operating mode.
