Ethan Foster was supposed to forget everything. To erase all memories of his career at the megalomaniacal empire of Howard Dreamland Toys Inc., a toy factory the size of a small city.

The complex was abruptly shut down and sealed off after a series of mysterious incidents, without a single official statement.

Although Ethan found another job, his life since then has felt like a grey backdrop. But when he accidentally learns of the plan to raze the gigantic factory to the ground, he cannot accept that the truth about the "Consciousness" project will be buried under tonnes of concrete.

This secret project was meant to create the perfect artificial intelligence that would give toys complex emotions and autonomous behaviour.

One night, determined to get answers, Ethan sneaks back into the locked and dark complex. However, he soon discovers that not only is the factory not abandoned, but returning to it is a death sentence.
