I once wrote my wish
on the back of a paper dart,
which I then threw out of the window.
I imagined it
as a living bird in the clouds,
that nothing could stop.
But in the morning, I found the dart
in the crown of the tree in front of the house.
The next day, I threw it again,
this time like a rocket
to distant stars,
yet it flew
only a few metres further
and landed in the grass.
I guess I don't believe enough,
I thought to myself
and sent it out into the world for a third time.
Now the paper dart
has become a winged predator,
whose cry woke up
the whole street.
Today I know that the dart reached
unknown worlds.
This book is the proof.
I hope, dear reader, it will be
an inspiration for your journey
into the world of imagination.
