Andrea, the middle sister, tries in vain to penetrate the closeness that her mother and the older Ulrika have always had. No matter how hard he tries, he stays away. Ullis, on the other hand, sees her younger sister as her father's favourite, who always got what she wanted, always got her way, and yet is never satisfied. And the youngest Rasmus? All his life he has stood in the shadow of his sisters, who compete for attention and recognition - and now he wonders how much it has affected him.
When it turns out that things are mysteriously disappearing from the house, lies start to multiply and an unexpected family secret surfaces, everything is turned upside down. Each of the three siblings has completely different memories of their childhood. Each of them is different. But who among them possesses the "correct" image of the past? What's been kept secret for years? Who's to blame? And what do we owe each other as siblings?
Another masterfully constructed novel by an award-winning Swedish author who impressively handles the theme of interpersonal relationships and skillfully captures different points of view.
It is published in the translation of Edita Petrásová.
