Detective Guðgeir Fransson is back! And with him, the second instalment of the Icelandic crime series, Ice and Crime.

Successfully closing Saaja’s case earned him a return to the criminal investigation department in Reykjavík, where he now deals with special cases. One of them is the death of Kristín Kjarr, an artist and victim of the cult that Guðgeir helped expose in Höfn. Her traumatic past landed her in prison, where she committed suicide. At least, that's how it appears at first glance. But why now, shortly before her release, when a new life was waiting for her beyond the prison walls?

Guðgeir starts to dig into Kristín’s past and soon uncovers a twenty-year-old crime – a series of brutal assaults – whose main suspect mysteriously disappeared. Now, new attacks bearing all the hallmarks of a copycat are spreading through Reykjavík, and Guðgeir’s instinct tells him that the two cases are connected.

A standalone sequel to the successful and award-winning Icelandic series Ice and Crime, the first part of which, titled The Fox, was published by Zoner Press in 2025.
