Nikola Tesla
Nikola Tesla (1856–1943), a brilliant Serb and one of the most important scientists and inventors of all time, made his mark on history primarily with his discoveries and inventions directly or indirectly related to the use of electrical energy and electromagnetism, especially his invention of the induction motor, the polyphase alternating current system, remote control, robotics, and wireless communication. After his victory in the “war of the currents”, where he proved the efficiency and safety of alternating current in his dispute with Thomas Edison, he became a universally recognised and respected expert. His most famous projects included the laboratory in colourado Springs and, above all, the Wardenclyffe Tower on Long Island – financed by billionaire J. P. Morgan, who later ceased to support the project. For Tesla, this was the greatest tragedy of his life – and perhaps for the world as well, for no one would ever know what the world lost in the unfinished construction of this unimaginably powerful and mysterious transmitter. The author of the book reveals Tesla's true role in the development of numerous inventions. He has chronologically arranged Tesla's activities and set the record straight on a number of matters. His work has become a model for examining the personality of Nikola Tesla in an unbiased way, based on verified evidence.
