Paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition for clinical practice
This book provides a comprehensive overview of paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, based on the principles of evidence-based medicine and the latest recommended procedures. For certain topics, the editors have chosen an interesting multidisciplinary approach – the topic is addressed from the perspective of several specialists, e.g. cow's milk protein allergy from the point of view of a gastroenterologist, an allergist and a nutritional therapist. In addition to diagnoses that are common in paediatric practice, the book also includes topics that are not a regular part of paediatric publications, such as intestinal tuberculosis, manifestations of HIV infection in the gastrointestinal tract, the side effects of the most commonly used drugs in paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology, and also the effects of commonly used drugs in paediatrics on the gastrointestinal tract. The book also includes a chapter dedicated to imaging methods commonly used in paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology, including pelvic floor MRI, MR enterography, MRCP, etc. The book contains many clear tables, graphs and a rich collection of photographs, especially from endoscopic and imaging examinations.
The target group includes paediatricians, clinical and general practitioners for children and adolescents, paediatric gastroenterologists, doctors in postgraduate training, and senior medical students.
