They have been forced to separate, yet they refuse to give up. If they are to be reunited, the entire continent will burn. The second book of the Dark Legacy romance trilogy

Vaasa was snatched from the arms of her husband Reid and taken in chains back to her homeland, where she is no longer a ruler but a mere piece on the political chessboard. Now she is in the grip of Ozik, the cunning wizard of the Order of Zethyr who controls her magic. Ozik is trying to establish himself as the grey eminence of the Asterian throne and Vaasa is forced to play her part in his game.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the continent, Reid is running out of patience with politics. However, pulling off a war is never easy, and even the fury of a soldier can do nothing against the Icrurian bureaucracy. With Reid's allies dwindling and time running out, he may have no choice but to infiltrate Asteria himself, find his beloved in person, and bring her home.

Vaasa is plagued by bouts of uncontrollable magic. She's desperate to get control of the power, but the only one who can make it happen is Ozik. In addition, Vaasa discovers a mysterious letter from her mother in her home fortress, which could be the key to her release. And when a man from her past shows up at the Asterian court, it looks like a path to escape is opening up. But won't it require a betrayal that true love may not survive?

The Evil and the Damned, the second volume of the thrilling romance trilogy Dark Inheritance, masterfully combines political intrigue and romantic entanglements between enemies and will captivate readers of the Throne of Glass and Court of Thorns and Roses series.
