A heartwarming story about finding yourself against the backdrop of an unconventional family life
Seventeen-year-old Yuko lives with her stepfather, Morimiya, and leads a perfectly happy life—or so it might seem at first glance. Since birth, she has changed homes and surnames four times. Although her family makeup has changed several times, all her parents have showered her with love. She has gained a lot of good from them, but some wounds don't heal so easily. This is brought home to her especially during her hectic final year of high school, where, in addition to studying for entrance exams, a few twists and turns will force Yuko to seriously reflect on her values, her views on friendship, and last but not least, what all her parents have given her and perhaps taken away.
Ultimately, Yuko also experiences her first great love and the start of her own family, which brings with it one more challenge before her final surname change—convincing Morimiya to give her and her future husband his blessing to marry.
