The Ubiquiti UniFi Pro 8 NAS is designed for storing and sharing company data on corporate networks. This 2U rack-mounted device integrates the capacity of eight hard drives and a fast network interface for smooth file transfers. The SGCC steel construction has a total weight of 11.5kg and meets the standards for installation in server cabinets. The system operates within a temperature range of -5°C to 40°C with a typical power consumption of 20W. The device supports a wide range of backup functions, including snapshots, file encryption, and data storage on cloud services like Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox.

High capacity and fast cache
The device accommodates up to eight 2.5" or 3.5" hard drives with a SATA interface. Two dedicated M.2 NVMe slots are used for installing SSDs with a total capacity of up to 4TiB, which function as a high-speed cache. The system significantly reduces response times when accessing frequently used files. The power limit for installed drives is 225W. If necessary, you can hot-swap physical drives thanks to the Hot Spare function, which maintains operational continuity without needing to shut down the entire system.
Network interface
The device includes two 10G SFP+ interfaces and one 10GbE RJ45 copper port supporting speeds of 10G, 5G, 2.5G, 1G, and 100M. This combination of ports provides a connection to the backbone network and enables rapid transfer of large data volumes. This gives users fast access to datasets without unnecessary waiting. The network interface is complemented by a Bluetooth 4.1 wireless connection for initial setup and management. LED indicators on the front panel clearly display the status of the Ethernet connection, SFP+ ports, hard drives, and the entire system.
Advanced data protection
The storage supports RAID 5, RAID 6, and RAID 10 arrays, which can be organised into multiple groups. This configuration protects stored data from individual drive failures. Users can configure disk arrays according to their requirements for security and write speed. Automatic backup to a remote UNAS server, backup to CIFS/SMB servers, or to cloud services such as Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, or Wasabi is also available. The system also supports Time Machine backups for client computers running macOS.
Reliable power supply
Uninterrupted operation is ensured by two redundant 550W power supply units. The modules support hot-swapping without the need to shut down the entire system. In the event of one PSU failing, the second module takes over the power supply without interrupting the storage's operation. The total power consumption of the entire system is 250W. Power is supplied via two independent AC inputs to increase overall resilience against power outages in the server room. Operational safety is further enhanced by compliance with FCC, CE, IC, and SRRC certifications.
Powerful hardware and management
The system is powered by a quad-core ARM Cortex-A57 processor with a 2GHz frequency. The 16GB of RAM helps ensure the smooth running of all services and fast request processing. The device is managed via the unifi.ui.com interface for easy file sharing setup. Standard NFS and SMB file protocols are supported. For rack mounting, it uses mounting rails compatible with four-post 600mm deep cabinets with 9.5×9.5mm square holes, with a supported depth range of 600 to 1066mm.
