EATON UPS 5PX 2200i RT2U Netpack Gen2

The Eaton 5PX 2200i RT2U is a line-interactive UPS that protects the power supply for servers and network components. With a power rating of 2200VA and a real power output of 2200W (a power factor of 1.0), it optimises the power for modern IT loads. At full load, it keeps connected devices running for 10 minutes. This rack UPS achieves a high efficiency of up to 98%, which reduces running costs and heat generation. Its 2U design allows for mounting in a data cabinet, and with the included supports, it can also be used vertically as a tower. The package includes a Netpack Gen2 network card for instant network integration and remote management. A clear graphical LCD display shows key operational statuses and simplifies local configuration. Also included in the package are an input cable, a USB and serial cable for local communication, and two IEC-IEC patch cables, including a system for securely fastening the cables.

The power supply uses line-interactive topology, which actively regulates the output voltage and corrects common mains deviations without switching to battery power. This saves battery capacity for actual outages. With an efficiency of up to 98% in online mode, it minimises energy losses. The device delivers both an apparent power of 2200VA and a real power of 2200W, corresponding to a power factor of 1.0. This value optimises the power supply for modern servers and IT equipment with active power factor correction (PFC) power supplies. At full load, it keeps connected devices running for 10 minutes. The pure sine wave output voltage is also compatible with sensitive electronics.

Battery and protection

The power supply contains six maintenance-free 12V / 7Ah lead-acid batteries that are easy for the user to replace. Integrated deep discharge protection helps to extend battery life. Automatic testing verifies the reliability of the batteries, and the device also automatically detects external battery modules. The cold start function starts the UPS from the battery even when no mains power is present.

Management, software and connectivity

For management and monitoring, there is a USB (HID) interface, an RS-232 serial port, and an Ethernet port with an integrated network card. Also included are mini terminal blocks for remote control and potential-free contacts. The Eaton Intelligent Power Manager and Protector software provides advanced monitoring and automatic safe shutdown of connected devices. An IEC C20 input connector is used for connecting to the mains. The output section is equipped with a total of ten sockets for powering connected devices. These ten sockets include eight standard IEC C13 sockets, suitable for most servers and network components, and two IEC C19 sockets for devices with higher current draw.
