Does Gnat even have a choice? He can only rely on himself and his faction, the Relict. Should he bet everything on a single card? Could humanity use the technology of an ancient and long-extinct race that he has discovered and avert the threat of enslavement before it's too late?
Michael Atamanov was born in Grozny, Chechnya, from which his family had to flee after the Russian army's attack during the war for independence. He earned an engineering degree from Moscow University and held various jobs after graduation, from a laboratory technician to a translator of technical articles. Over time, he transitioned from writing articles for scientific journals to writing stories, some of which he published on internet portals in 2014. His books quickly gained popularity, eventually attracting the attention of major Russian publishing houses. It was with them that he began to publish his LitRPG novels, including the Perimeter Defence and The Dark Herbalist series, which are now being released here. Another book series, Reality Benders, was published in the original language.
