Are you building a gaming machine and aren't sure which processor to select? Learn about when and in what situations certain CPUs make a difference with realistic gaming test results. We tested the best processors against each other: Intel i5, AMD Ryzen 5, Intel i7 and AMD Ryzen 7. And finally, we'll answer the question: Intel or AMD?
You want to indulge in outstanding gaming performance. Then take advantage of the all-new Intel Alder Lake processor architecture. This is the 12th generation of Intel Core chips, which is polished in every way. In an innovative approach, the Intel Core i7-12700K CPU uses a combination of large (powerful) with smaller (power-saving) cores. This allows you to scale performance to unsuspected heights.
The 12th generation of Intel Core processors relies on large cores (Golden Cove) and small cores (Gracemont). The 1 MHz performance increase alone is a whopping 19% compared to Intel Rocket Lake. In gaming deployments, the frame rate increases by even higher numbers.
In order to ensure that the demands on the large and small cores of the Core i7-12700K processor are always ideally distributed, Intel had to develop a special hardware scheduler called Thread Director. By working closely with Microsoft, Windows 11 will be the best environment for gaming, entertainment and creative work.
The new Intel Alder Lake processor is compatible with both the new DDR5 and DDR4 motherboards, so you can choose the option that suits you best.
