It has a 4GB capacity, high transfer rates, and its precise design is complemented by a galvanised case with a tamper-evident epoxy seal for physical security. It comes with internal hardware encryption of AES-256 bit content in XTS mode that works automatically and encrypts all data stored in the memory and decrypts it to the user who knows the password. This password must be strong enough and contain at least six characters with alternating letters, digits, or special characters. After ten unsuccessful attempts, the drive locks up and formats itself, so the data are irrecoverably lost. This means the drive meets FIPS 140-2 certification standards.

Perfect security
One interesting thing about the D300 Managed model is IronKey EMS management by DataLocker (must be purchased separately). It allows you to manage disk access, and you can change different settings such as password strength or an acceptable number of access attempts. In the event you actually lose the drive, you can use the management options to remotely deactivate it, recover lost passwords, and more.
