Integrated sampler with hands-free recording and Chop Mode sample editing
At the heart of the TEENAGE EP-40 is an integrated sampler that allows you to record from a microphone, line input or resample your own projects. With adjustable threshold and input level, you'll always get a clear recording, even in challenging conditions. Hands-free sampling function accurately captures loop length or multi-bar recording, while resampling allows you to merge layers and create new sounds from existing patterns. With Chop Mode, you can split your recordings precisely - automatically to the beat or manually using the rotary controls.

Polyphony, patterns and modes for creating complete compositions
TEENAGE EP-40 offers 12 stereo or 16 mono voices of polyphony and combines subtractive synthesis with preset bass and keyboard sounds inspired by reggae and dub aesthetics. You can create up to 99 patterns in each project, use real-time recording or step sequencing, and switch between scenes in Song Mode to create complete songs. Keys Mode turns the pads into a chromatic keyboard for melodies or bass lines, while Scale Mode ensures that all the notes are in tune with your project.

Powerful FX engine with real-time effects control
The TEENAGE EP-40 is equipped with a powerful FX engine with seven main effects - delay, reverb, distortion, Chorus, filter, compressor and phaser. With Punch-In FX, effects can be controlled in real time and dynamic transitions or live changes can be added during performances. There is also Live Input FX, which allows you to apply effects to an external signal, such as from a microphone or synthesizer. A sophisticated compressor with sidechain capability adds character and energy to the rhythms, while the vinyl mode smoothly slows or speeds up the tempo with natural tuning changes for an authentic analog feel.
