The TP-Link TL-FC311B-20 megabit fibre optic media converter with a metallic RJ45 and an optical SC/UPC connector serves to transmit data over a fibre optic cable up to a distance of 20km. It supports WDM technology and allows you to multiplex optical signals operating at different wavelengths using a single fibre, which saves half the cost of cable deployment. Specifically, the TL-FC311B-20 sends data at a wavelength of 1,310nm and receives data at a wavelength of 1,550nm. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the converter can be placed practically anywhere. In addition, the TP-Link TL-FC311B-20 converter can be used as a stand-alone device for automatic detection of the port type (MDI/MDI-X) on the other side of the transmission.
