Call of Duty: WWII takes the series back to its roots, dropping you onto the battlefields of the Second World War. You'll experience a dramatic story campaign through the eyes of a young soldier and his unit. In addition, a sophisticated online multiplayer with new game modes awaits you. The game is an action-packed first-person shooter designed for Xbox One consoles, and is also compatible with Xbox Series X. An Xbox Live Gold subscription is required for online play.
In story mode, you will take on the role of nineteen-year-old Private Ronald “Red” Daniels from Texas, a member of the famous 1st Infantry Division. Together with your comrades-in-arms, you will embark on a dramatic journey across the European theatre of war and take part in the most famous battles of the Second World War. The campaign emphasises the personal stories of individual characters and their fates in challenging wartime situations that will test their resolve and friendship.
The multiplayer component of the game maintains the traditionally high standard of the Call of Duty series. It offers new game modes and a different level progression system, delivering a fresh gameplay experience. Also new is the option to choose a military specialisation, where you can decide whether to focus on infantry combat, tank control, or become a pilot in aerial dogfights. Multiplayer is focused on teamwork and tactical battles.
Call of Duty: WWII is supplied as a physical copy for the Xbox One platform, but it is also fully compatible with the newer generation of Xbox Series X consoles. The in-game text is localised in English and German, while the soundtrack and dubbing are entirely in English. To access the online multiplayer, the game requires an active Xbox Live Gold subscription. Due to content depicting violence and strong language, the game is recommended for players aged 18 and over.
