The Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 80 external drive, with 3840GB of storage, stores and transfers data via a USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface. It unlocks using a colour touchscreen, which makes the drive independent of any operating system. Your stored files are protected by FIPS 197 certified 256-bit XTS-AES hardware encryption. This security is complemented by a Common Criteria EAL5+ certified microprocessor and digitally signed firmware to guard against BadUSB attacks. Data transfer speeds reach 250MB/s for both reading and writing.
All operations with the encrypted external drive are performed via the colour touchscreen. To unlock it, you can choose a numeric PIN or a passphrase, which can include spaces to make it easier to remember. The drive supports setting up two passwords, Admin and User, with separate access management. The administrator can also configure password rules, such as a length of 6–64 characters or the requirement to use alphanumeric characters.
FIPS 197 certification is the standard for data security. The drive also integrates Brute Force attack protection, which automatically and irreversibly erases its contents after 15 consecutive failed password attempts. This number of attempts is the default and can be adjusted by the administrator. To protect against malware and unwanted file modifications, the drive offers two separate Read-Only write-protect modes that block any changes to the drive.
Hardware encryption and control via its own screen make it independent of any operating system. You can connect the drive to devices running Windows, macOS, Linux, or ChromeOS via the USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface. The package includes a neoprene travel case and two cables for carrying and connecting. The package contains a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-A cable.
